Bleach the anime Season 1
Kurosaki Ichigo is a normal 15-year-old highschool kid with an attitude. A bad one. But despite that, he is a good guy deep inside and frequently wants to protect his family. He often gets into rows with his Dad. One day, a Shinigami (Death God aka Soul Reaper) snuck into his room.

You see, Ichigo is not so normal after all. He has high spiritual levels and can see ghosts. That is why big bad ghosts called Hollows often want to eat him. The Shinigami called Rukia who snuck into his room came to his aid as one Hollow was about to eat his family. In the end, Rukia too was unable to do anything, so Rukia gave Ichigo her powers. Ichigo became a Shinigami and defeated that Hollow.

From then, Ichigo had to learn how to become a Shinigami and control his powers, with Rukia helping him. This season focuses a lot on Ichigo and his friends.

Bleach the anime Season 2
Kurosaki was found out by the Shinigami heads and was stripped off of his powers and Rukia taken back to Soul Society (Spirit world) for execution.

Season 2 is mainly about how Ichigo trained to regain his powers and also his friends obtaining new powers. Together they invaded Soul Society to try and get Rukia back. They had to go through tough Shinigami and Captains from Soul Society to get to Rukia. Did they succeed?

Bleach the anime Season 3
Everything was OK after Season 2's mess for some reason. But what reason? I cannot tell. This is the major spoiler. But then they encountered a new type of enemy called the Bount. They were vampires and manipulated dolls. Each Bount has a unique doll with its own abilities. The Bount had a grudge on Soul Society. It was up to Kurosaki Ichigo and co and the Soul Society Shinigami to stop them.

I have heard various criticism about the Bount storyline. It was said to be boring and was labelled as a filler. This is mainly because the Bount storyline is not in the Bleach Manga. And as I said earlier on the frontpage, I do not dislike something just because of a particular reason. In this case, I will not label the Bount storyline in Bleach the Anime as filler or boring just because it is not in the manga, I will watch it and then decide. I did just that. The Bount's dolls are really unique, the animations are nice, the concept is quite cool actually. There is a Fire Elemental, Water Elemental, Shadow Monster, Metal monster... The story has deep meaning and reflects the real history of certain parts of the world. I must admit that some episodes might drag a bit but they are not bad at all, to me.

Bleach the anime Season 4
Hollows are starting to gain more powers as they try to gain the strength of Shinigami. They peel off their masks and obtain a sword. These Hollows are called Arrancar. They strive to topple Soul Society. Once again, there is a major threat for the Shinigami to face.

Kurosaki Ichigo and co need to face a lot of tough nuts in Season 4. There is also a team of Vizards. Vizards are Shinigami who obtained Hollow's powers. Somewhat like Arrancar, but the other way round.
