A filler is an episode that has no direct connection to the main story. Bleach fillers aren't much. I mean as I see it, Bleach does not have many fillers... unless...

I remembered a filler from last time. The kids from Urahara shop were summoned by Don Kanonji, a TV-show celebrity medium who vanquished Hollows. They form their own Super Sentai Squad (like Power Rangers) to battle Hollows. The whole episode was about them.

And then the rest of the fillers I encountered were mostly about character development. For instance, when they introduced Madarame Ikkaku (the bald guy), or Abarai Renji or the 3 mod souls (Ririn, Claude and Nova). In Renji and Ikkaku's cases, the whole episodes were about them. In the 3 mod souls' case, they had a few episodes especially to introduce them and those episodes involve messing with the main characters. Those episodes really swayed a lot and I felt a little bored by those too. So if you count character development episodes as fillers, OK, they are fillers then.

The Bount filler. Some people classify the Bount storyline as a super big filler. However, the way I see it, it is a different storyline, not a filler. It has bad guys, a decent story to go through, awesome fighting... My friends enjoyed it. Some didn't though.. :-) Anyways, if you count something that is not in the Bleach manga as a filler, then filler it is. But the 30+ episodes of Bount did not bore me.
